Low friction
Nanovia PC-PTFE is an engineering 3D printing material that combines the tribological properties of PTFE with the toughness of polycarbonate. This FFF filament was specifically designed for mechanical parts subjected to high and repetitive friction in harsh environments. Parts made with Nanovia PC-PTFE can be used at temperatures up to 130°C.
Description
Specially designed for applications involving friction and rubbing, Nanovia PC-PTFE enables low-friction, low-wear 3D printed parts.
The low friction index of PolyTétraFluoroéthylène (PTFE), combined with the mechanical strength of polycarbonate (PC), makes this filament ideal for mechanical parts exposed to friction, such as gears.
Nanovia PC-PTFE can be used up to 130°C.
Advantages
- Very low friction index
- Ideal for mechanical parts
- Better water resistance than native PC
Application recommendations
Conservation
- Store in an airtight container with desiccant, away from direct sunlight.
- Dehydrate for 4 hours at 60°C before printing after prolonged exposure to humidity.
Press
- An ABS raft can allow for better adhesion to the print bed
Health and safety
Press
- Do not extrude at temperatures above 330°C, risk of VOC generation.
- It is recommended to print Nanovia PC-PTFE in a room with air extraction or using appropriate respiratory equipment.
Post-treatment
Standard PPE (dust mask, gloves) is recommended
Certifications
RoHS certification of Nanovia PC-PTFE
