Made with Arkema Kepstan® PEKK (PolyEtherKetoneKetone) and cutting-edge conductive additives, this ESD PEKK-A is one of the world's highest-performing polymers and ideal for the most demanding applications. This filament was created for the most specific situations where tight control of static dissipation, thermal properties, and mechanical performance is required.

The advantages of PEKK-A include:

  • Substantially easier to print than PEEK, made from a 50/40 PEKK copolymer known as PEKK-A
  • High thermal properties, with a Tg of 162°C, an HDT of 150°C and a Tm of 305°C.
  • Inherently flame resistant and self-extinguishing
  • Long-term hydrolytic stability making it ideal for steam and autoclave environments
  • Excellent dimensional stability with low thermal creep, low and uniform coefficient of thermal expansion and highly reproducible dimensions from part to part
  • Exceptional strength and modulus, even at high temperatures
  • Excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, such as automotive fluids, fully halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols and aqueous solutions
  • Stable dielectric constant and dissipation factor over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies

Comparison of 3DXSTAT™ ESD PEKK-A with Stratasys® Antero™ PEKK 840CN03:

  • Both use Arkema's genuine PEKK-A as the base resin component.
  • Both use carbon nanotubes as a conductive additive.
  • 3DXSTAT™ ESD PEKK-A is lower cost and suitable for use on low-priced, open-material 3D printers.
  • The Stratasys® Antero™ 840CN03 is more expensive and only available on the very expensive Fortus® 900mc Plus.


Typical applications of ESD PEKK-A include:
Semicon: HDD components, wafer handling, masks, enclosures and connectors
Industrial: Transportation, measurement and sensing applications


Target Conductivity for 3DXSTAT ESD PEKK-A:

  • 10^7 to 10^9 ohms surface resistivity on the 3DP sample using the concentric ring test method.
  • Note: Internal studies have shown that increasing extruder temperatures can achieve higher conductivity levels. Similarly, lower extrusion temperatures have resulted in lower conductivity levels. Each printer is set up differently, not to mention the different part geometries. Therefore, some testing is required to understand how ESD PEKK-A filament performs in your specific printer and application.

Recommended print settings:

  • Extruder: 355-385°C
  • Bed temperature: 120-140°C
  • Bed preparation: 3DXTECH nano polymer adhesive or polyimide tape gives the best results.
  • Heated chamber: Recommended; a chamber helps reduce warping and improves layer adhesion. 70-140°C if possible.
  • Supports: ThermaX™ HTS High-Temp Support is ideal for complex, high-temperature materials like this.
  • Drying instructions: 120°C for 4 hours
