BASF Ultrafuse HIPS filament is ideal as a support material for ABS prints. Its main advantage is that it can be dissolved residue-free in a citric acid solution after the printing process. Finally, you have the ability to design and print complex geometries without worrying about overhangs. You can also use HIPS as a building material. It is extremely lightweight and has a pleasant matte surface, which can be easily refined with sandpaper. Furthermore, the BASF Ultrafuse HIPS surface finish is ideal for painting.
Note: BASF Ultrafuse 's current filaments were sold under the Innofil3D brand until the end of 2019. The Dutch manufacturer was previously acquired by the German chemical company BASF. As part of the acquisition, the filaments were renamed and the packaging was modified. The printing material remains the same high-quality filament as before.
