ULTEM AM9085F is a high-performance filament for industrial and professional applications.
Polyetherimide, or PEI for short, is one of the most widely used high-performance plastics on the market, with a 15% market share. The Saudi conglomerate Sabic and its partner Saudi Aramco developed a high-performance blend of this plastic, which is now sold under the well-known brand name ULTEM.
Until recently, these materials were exclusively available through Stratasys' closed system. Now, however, you can also obtain these plastics originally from the manufacturer Sabic and process them on suitable 3D printers. It's important to note that ULTEMs, like PEEK or PEKK, require a very high print nozzle temperature and a heated build space. Print results will likely not be convincing on standard desktop 3D printers like Ultimaker, BCN3D, or even Prusa and Creality.
ULTEM AM9085F filament is a high-performance filament made from a blend of ULTEM 9085 resin. It is available in black and unpigmented natural color. The material has excellent heat resistance of 175°C and high mechanical strength. Available in 1.5 and 3.0 mm thicknesses, it is UL94 V-0 flame retardant and complies with FAR 25.853 and OSU 65/65 with low toxicity, smoke, and flame generation.
Stratasys machines use a 1.79mm diameter. The material offered here is supplied unchipped and in a standard 1.75mm diameter.
