Nanovia PP CF :
Reinforced carbon fiber
Thanks to polypropylene's near-zero water absorption rate, high chemical resistance, low density, and native UV resistance, Nanovia PP CF is ideal for lightweight, weather-exposed components that require high dimensional stability, such as marine equipment and automotive mechanical parts.
Description
Polypropylene is a semi-rigid material with high wear and impact resistance, particularly used for hinges and components subject to regular bending. The addition of carbon fibers makes Nanovia PP stiffer and more UV-resistant. Resistant to moisture, it is ideal for both outdoor and high-stress industrial applications.
Like polyamide (nylon), polypropylene gradually becomes more flexible as temperatures increase. Nanovia PP CF's carbon fiber composition limits this phenomenon, allowing it to be used for parts requiring dimensional control in hot, humid environments.
Advantages
- Very low water absorption rate
- Good chemical resistance
- UV resistant
- Rigid
Application recommendations
Conservation
- Store in an airtight container with desiccant, away from direct sunlight.
- Dehydrate for 4 hours at 60°C before printing after prolonged exposure to humidity.
Press
- It is recommended to use a reinforced nozzle, suitable for abrasive materials.
- If you experience bed adhesion issues, we recommend using a "raft" or a polypropylene bed. The latter can be achieved by applying polypropylene film/tape to the printer bed. To prevent the film/tape from peeling off, a lower bed temperature is recommended.
Health and safety
Press
It is recommended to print Nanovia PP CF in a room with air extraction or using suitable breathing equipment.
Post-treatment
Standard PPE (dust mask, gloves) is recommended
Certifications
Nanovia PP CF RoHS certified
