Reinforced flax fiber
Nanovia PLA Flax is entirely bio-based, biodegradable, and certified free of endocrine disruptors. The non-abrasive flax fibers, sourced from northern France, improve the material's mechanical properties and reduce PLA's tendency to warp. By varying the temperature, it's possible to brown the fibers and alter the color of the piece.
Description
Combining the ease of printing of PLA with the mechanical properties of flax fibers, Nanovia PLA Flax will allow you to create mechanical 3D prints with ease.
color variation based on printing temperature
This bio-based composite 3D filament, certified free from endocrine disruptors, can be colored by varying the printing temperature up to 260°C.
Nanovia's PLA Flax fibers are harvested and processed in France, specially selected for additive manufacturing. The organic look of this filament makes it ideal for decorative objects and toys.
Advantages
- Easy to print
- Biosourced and biodegradable
- Certified endocrine disruptor free
Application recommendations
Conservation
- Store in an airtight container with desiccant, away from direct sunlight.
- Dehydrate for 4 hours at 60°C before printing after prolonged exposure to humidity.
After the treatment
- Standard PPE (dust mask, gloves) is recommended
Health and safety
Press
It is recommended to print Nanovia PLA Flax in a room with air extraction or using appropriate respiratory equipment.
Post-treatment
It is recommended to wear standard safety gear when post-curing prints made with Nanovia PLA Flax.
Tests for endocrine disruptors:
1 OEDT Method - SERPBIO Laboratory. Sample: NANOVIA 3D PLA Flax filament.
Study: Measurement of the activity of human estrogen receptors expressed in S. cerevisiae (SW303.1B).
Each measurement was reproduced 3 times independently with the different contents of the tested sample.
Results: The data obtained show that the tested product does not influence the measured activity.
Note on the ratio of circulating plasma estradiol: With menopausal women / with men: * [4×10-11M - 2×10-10M] with premenopausal women (excluding ovulation): [1×10-10M - 5×10-10M] / with women (ovulation): [2×10 -9m] * a value is considered critical when it exceeds [2×10-11M].
CONCLUSION: The tested material can be considered free of endocrine disruptors.
