EN 45545-2
Nanovia PC-ABS Rail is an FFF filament made from UL V0 and NF EN 45545-2 certified materials for the rail industry, in compliance with its rigorous flammability resistance and low smoke and toxic fumes. This ABS and polycarbonate composite has better operating temperatures than ABS, despite having similar printing characteristics. Nanovia PC-ABS Rail can be used up to 115°C.
Description
The NF EN 45545-2 standard was created to ensure rail passenger transport and limit the risk of fire during an accident. This is achieved by imposing certain criteria regarding the material's non-flammability and the non-release of toxic fumes and vapors.
Easier to print than polycarbonate, Nanovia PC-ABS Rail is based on this material and can be used to create components safe for indoor spaces.
Examples: armrests, hooks, storage compartments, hinges, electrical cabinets, etc.
Advantages
- Made with certified material 45545-2:2013+A1:2015
- Excellent fire resistance
Application recommendations
Conservation
- Store in an airtight container with desiccant, away from direct sunlight.
- Dehydrate for 4 hours at 60°C before printing after prolonged exposure to humidity.
Post-treatment
- For outdoor use, we recommend painting or applying a UV protective coating, as both polycarbonate and ABS are sensitive to UV rays and may otherwise "yellow" or crack over time.
