Flexible biodegradable
Nanovia Istroflex is a flexible, biodegradable FFF filament (Shore 44D/93A). It is composed of cosmetic-grade oyster powder from France (Morbihan) combined with a biodegradable polymer matrix. Compostable according to the EN 13432 standard, this filament is certified free of endocrine disruptors. Nanovia Istroflex is characterized by excellent adhesion between the various layers and excellent resistance.
Description
Using Nanovia Istroflex, a biodegradable oyster shell-based composite 3D filament, you can 3D print flexible, everyday designs.
Its flexibility makes it ideal for technical parts that require a certain amount of elasticity or rebound, such as shock and vibration absorbers, silent blocks, seals, constrictive interstitial materials, etc.
Developed in collaboration with the ComposiTIC technical platform and Usine de Kervellerin in 2015, the Nanovia Istroflex 3D filament was awarded the CCI Morbihan innovation prize.
Advantages
- Flexible
- Biodegradable and compostable
- Excellent adhesion between layers
- ROSH certified free from heavy metals
- Certified without endocrine disruption
Application recommendations
Conservation
- Store in an airtight container with desiccant, away from direct sunlight.
- Dehydrate for 4 hours at 60°C before printing after prolonged exposure to humidity.
Subsequent treatment
- Thick layers of Nanovia Istroflex can be sanded.
Health and safety
Biodegradability
Nanovia Istroflex contains a heavy polymer, based on biodegradable monomers and cosmetic-grade oyster shells.

Nanovia Istroflex RoHS Certification
Tests for endocrine disruptors:
1 EMCDDA Method - SERPBIO Laboratory. Sample: NANOVIA 3D filament Istroflex.
Study: Measurement of the activity of human estrogen receptors expressed in S. cerevisiae (SW303.1B).
Each measurement was reproduced 3 times independently with the different contents of the tested sample.
Results: The data obtained show that the tested product does not influence the measured activity.
Note on the ratio of circulating plasma estradiol: With menopausal women / with men: * [4×10-11M - 2×10-10M] with premenopausal women (excluding ovulation): [1×10-10M - 5×10-10M] / with women (ovulation): [2×10 -9m] * a value is considered critical when it exceeds [2×10-11M].
CONCLUSION: The tested material can be considered free of endocrine disruptors.
