PRODUCT INFORMATION "MEDI-FIL-A-GEHR PEEK MG"
MEDI-FIL-A-GEHR PEEK® is suitable for medical and pharmaceutical applications with direct contact with tissue, bone, skin, and mucous membranes for up to 24 hours. They have been tested and evaluated by independent, accredited testing laboratories and meet the following biocompatibility requirements:
ISO 10993-5: In vitro cytotoxicity tests
ISO 10993-18: Chemical characterization of materials
USP Class VI
The continuous operating temperature of this high-performance plastic ranges from approximately -40°C to +260°C. It features an extraordinary combination of stiffness, hardness, very high tensile and flexural strength (high toughness and fatigue resistance), high deflection temperature, and excellent resistance to disinfectants and detergents. Its hydrolytic stability is exceptionally high, allowing repeated steam sterilization without problems. PEEK is self-extinguishing according to UL94 specifications. The raw materials used meet FDA and EU 10/2011 requirements for materials intended to come into contact with food.
The filament's processing temperature is 375°C in a heated chamber (180°C). The material is specifically designed for use in 3D printers.
