Novamid AM 1030 FR is UL Blue Card certified, halogen-free and environmentally friendly.
PA6/66 filament certified UL94 V-0 by DSM
Novamid AM 1030 FR is a flame-retardant 3D printing material for industrial users. The Dutch company DSM is one of the world's leading chemical companies and is known for high-quality plastics in various industries. The filament available here is a polyamide 6/66 (also known as PA or nylon), which has good mechanical properties in addition to its low flammability.
Advantages of DSM Novamid AM 1030 FR
Novamid 1030 FR is the first filament certified for open material systems according to UL Blue Card. Now you can print applications that require UL flammability certification, such as housings for electrical or lighting applications, connectors, and more. UL's Blue Card program is specifically designed to certify materials for additive manufacturing. Novamid AM 1030 FR is completely halogen-free and therefore environmentally friendly.
The UL94 V test for plastics measures flammability properties and examines how the material extinguishes or spreads a flame after ignition.
Validated in a UL-certified laboratory, DSM material has a UL 94 V-0 rating with wall thicknesses of 1.6 and 3.2 mm, and a UL 94 V-2 rating with wall thicknesses of 0.85 mm. This means that after switching on, the material will automatically switch off in 10 (V-0) and 30 (V-2) seconds or less. UL requires Blue Cards for 3D printing materials to be printer-specific; this material was tested on an Ultimaker S5 printer. However, because it is an open-platform material, users can work with any open-platform casting system using Novamid AM 1030 FR.
Based on DSM’s unique Novamid technology, this new flame-retardant material exhibits all the performance characteristics customers rely on, such as excellent mechanical properties and easy printability.
Applications for DSM Novamid AM 1030 FR
The certification that makes this printing material special is primarily required in the industry. Therefore, 1030 FR filament is also aimed at industry. The automotive industry, in particular, uses this material for connectors. It is also used for electrical and electronic connections and housing parts, as well as lighting covers.
